Onderzoeks- en chirurgische handschoenen voor optimale handbescherming Voor de bescherming van zorgprofessional en patiënt is het belangrijk om de juiste handschoenen te dragen. Draag altijd handschoenen wanneer de handen in contact komen of kunnen komen met: bloed, speeksel, slijmvliezen, niet-intacte huid en gebruikt instrumentarium. Deze handschoenen dienen per patiënt vervangen te worden. Vervang handschoenen tussendoor wanneer handelingen in volgorde van vuil naar schoon plaatsvinden. Wanneer handschoenen beschadigd raken dienen deze direct vervangen te worden. Raak met vuile handschoenen geen niet-desinfecteerbare oppervlakten aan, zoals patiëntendossiers. Pas altijd handhygiëne toe na het uittrekken van de handschoenen. Bij chirurgische ingrepen dienen steriele handschoenen gebruikt te worden. In andere gevallen kan gebruik worden gemaakt van niet-steriele handschoenen. Gebruik bij het handmatig reinigen van gebruikt instrumentarium stevige disposable handschoenen. Handschoenen zijn verkrijgbaar in twee versies: nitril handschoenen (synthetisch rubber, erg comfortabel en sterker dan latex). Nitril handschoenen bevatten geen latex. Latex handschoenen hebben een uitstekende tastgevoeligheid, zijn elastisch, maar latex het grote nadeel dat mensen allergisch kunnen zijn voor latex. iWearPro levert een compleet portfolio beschermende handschoenen om veiliger en comfortabeler te werken.
