About us
Caring for Little Smiles - With your support, Foundation Sumbing Bibir gives children not just medical and dental care, but the chance to learn, grow, and build a better future.
Since 1993, Stichting Sumbing Bibir has been giving children with cleft lip and/or palate a future.
With your support, children in Indonesia and India are given a chance at a healthy, fulfilling life — a life in which they can laugh, speak, and play like any other child, despite being born with a cleft condition.
Children with a cleft are visibly “different” and are often excluded. And yet, a single operation can completely change their lives. Unfortunately, their families often lack the financial means.
What we do
Our volunteer teams of cleft care specialists regularly travel to Indonesia, where they perform free surgeries on dozens of children. In addition, we provide knowledge transfer to local doctors, dentists, and orthodontists. We also invest in scientific research to further improve treatments.

1. Treatment
We operate on children with cleft conditions and ensure they receive dental and orthodontic care. We also support underprivileged children in India with medical care, nutrition, education, and a safe home.
2. Training
We train local specialists so they can continue providing care independently in the future.
3. Research
We support research into the causes of cleft conditions and more effective treatment methods, allowing us to help even more children.
What you can do
Our doctors and volunteers work entirely without pay — but surgeries, medication, and equipment all cost money.

Accommodation and care for the medical team
Support for a school for children with disabilities in Central Java, where they learn a trade and later become self-sufficient
