UCAN PRINT: TRADITION GOES ADDITIVE

Additive manufacturing is a game-changer for dental laboratories. Nonetheless, trained dental technicians are well aware that full dentures require more than mere technology. With UCAN, Candulor has developed a concept that combines decades of prosthetic expertise and digital technology with state-of-the-art materials. With UCAN Print, the company is now introducing a range of 5 new 3D printing resins.

The five new resins cover virtually all production steps for removable dentures: they enable the printing of models, the production of functional trays, as well as the fabrication of try-ins and denture bases. The UCAN Print Base for denture bases is core to the UCAN Print family. The material sets high standards: water absorption is less than 25 μg/mm³, shrinkage is less than 1% – values that significantly exceed ISO standards. UCAN Print Try-In for try-ins is characterized by a 75% higher impact strength compared to other products. XPLEX Bond ensures that denture teeth are securely bonded to the printed base. “It is precisely the combination of analog and digital processing techniques that can achieve a result that brings together functional, esthetic and economic aspects, for example by combining our prefabricated teeth in a printed base,” says Oliver Benz, Head of Education at Candulor.

UCAN print resins can be processed in various 3D printing systems. They emphasize the concept of flexibility: each laboratory can choose its own method – with the assurance of proven Candulor quality.
