Doel van de opleiding In deze tweedaagse cursus leert uw medewerker om – onder begeleiding en verantwoordelijkheid van de tandarts – infiltratie- en geleidingsanesthesie (mandibulair blok) te geven. Het niveau (doelgroep/criteria) Zoekt u als mondhygiënist of assistent meer uitdaging en wilt u binnen de tandheelkunde verder ontwikkelen? Dan is deze cursus heel geschikt. Het programma is ontwikkeld voor de mondhygiënist en gemotiveerde assistenten met minimaal één jaar ervaring aan de stoel. Leren en werken (begeleiding) Het zelfstandig toedienen van anesthesie is een uitdaging voor de assistent. Deze cursus vormt een goede basis, maar de nieuwe kennis en vaardigheden moeten natuurlijk wel geoefend worden. De cursist moet daarom de gelegenheid krijgen om het geleerde in de praktijk toe te passen. Hij/zij zal op de cursus specifieke werkopdrachten meekrijgen. Voor het succes van de cursus is het noodzakelijk dat de tandarts daarbij een actieve en begeleidende rol speelt. Theorie/Praktijk (inhoud/werkwijze) De cursusdag valt uiteen in twee delen: ’s ochtends de theorie, ’s middags de praktijk. De theorie wordt aangeboden in de vorm van een handboek. De cursist hoeft echter niet zelfstandig te gaan zitten blokken: tijdens de cursusbijeenkomsten wordt alle leerstof door ervaren docenten toegelicht aan de hand van PowerPoint presentaties. Er is volop gelegenheid tot het stellen van vragen. Tijdens de praktijklessen leert de cursist omgaan met de instrumentatie. Daarbij gebruiken wij fantoomhoofden. Tijdens de cursus oefenen de cursisten in een echte behandelsetting op elkaar. Hierbij wordt gebruik gemaakt van naalden, zonder de voor lokale anesthesie benodigde vloeistof.
